Our Story

We are experts at skin detox, and we do it beautifully. Our founder, Sadie Voeks, created HARARA as a place where people could gather, socialize, and receive exceptional services without pretense or silence.

She was inspired while on her honeymoon in Morocco, where she experienced a hammam for the first time. Her treatment left her blissed out and with reverence for a beautiful tradition blending self-care, detoxification, and a social gathering. After several years and a 20-year career at Nordstrom, Sadie has set out to create something she craved but didn’t exist in Portland. Borrowing from this beautiful tradition, HARARA is the first wellness destination in the Pacific Northwest to offer steam chambers, exfoliation, and massage using Moroccan-sourced products.
